No joke! However just to be totally 100% clear about
what this really means, please read on.
I have every intention of keeping
this website alive as long as I am alive and am physically and mentally
able to function. More relevantly I plan on keeping this website alive
as long as there is a strong level of interest in my work. Its entirely
possible that Microsoft will produce more and better free video tutorials
than I possibly can, and if that happens, I'll attempt to fill-in their
gaps and provide value until its obvious that I'm no longer needed.
Or there may come a time when no one is interested in learning .NET,
or Microsoft moves on to a different technology/platform/tool/whatever.
Who knows. Whatever the case may be, I'm interested in keeping LearnVisualStudio.NET
going for a long long long time and will hopefully continue to produce
content you are interested in.
I have run this website since February
2002 and have enjoyed a good deal of success thanks to strong word-of-mouth
advertising and good hyperlinks from other websites. Many have commented
on how the site has helped them and I am very proud of that. However,
if and when the day comes when it looks like the end is near, you will
be given plenty of advanced warning. At this point in time, there is
no end in sight and there is a lot of new technology on its way from
Microsoft, so stay tuned!
Finally, you might be wondering why would
I do this?!?!? Maybe I'm crazy ... or a genius :)
Thank you for your
interest!
